Rapture

It has come to my attention that there is some confusion amongst the Body of Christ concerning whether we are taken up or raptured before or after the tribulation. I was talking with a friend about this very issue. During our conversation they mentioned that it does not specifically say in scripture whether the rapture is pre-tribulation or post-tribulation. I then reread the Book of Revelation looking for answers and did not find any chronological answers concerning when the rapture occurs. I kept these things in my mind for some time. I prayed to the Lord for an answer concerning this issue. A few days later I was reading Luke chapter 17.  When I came to verse 22 I knew immediately that my prayers were being answered concerning this issue.

Here is Luke 17: 22 - 30

And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them. 24 For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29 but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.

Now I want to highlight verse 26 which says that the people are carrying on with life as normal. They are having celebrations and then the judgement comes upon them. Noah (representing the church) is rescued just before the judgement comes (tribulation). We see also in verses 28-29 that Lot was rescued before the judgement was poured out onto Sodom. These are the two situations that Christ uses to compare to His second coming to take His bride. As we can see, the church is plucked up from the earth first and is rescued before the tribulation begins as Luke clearly demonstrates.

I felt led to share this with people because many people are fearful or afraid that they will have to endure the wrath of God being poured out on the earth as seen in the Book of Revelation. What we must remember is that Revelation is for our knowledge but is more so for those who are left behind and come to know the truth after we are already taken.
